ISLAMABAD ISLAMABAD: Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet today (Sunday) to look at the full moon in Shawal 1443 AH that will determine the day that will be Eidul Fitr 2022.
The primary session of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony in Islamabad with Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad sitting in the chair. Meanwhile, the zonal committees will look at the Shawwal crescent within their respective areas.
Maulana Azad will announce the decision on the sighting of a crescent.
If the moon appears in the coming hours, Pakistan will mark Eidul Fitr the next day (Monday).
However, it is, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) stated that there are no possibilities that the Shawwal moon is visible on this day, and that’s why Eidul Fitr could be observed on a Monday in Pakistan.
As of now, South Waziristan in Pakistan and Afghanistan is celebrating Eid today, after spotting the Shawwal moon last night.
