What is the date expected of the decision for the Johnny Depp v Amber Heard trial?

On the 27th of May, the jury deliberated on the Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard defamation trial. Shortly, we can expect the verdict that will bring the trial to a close. However, it appears we’ll need to wait for a few days. A judge Penny Azcarate sent the jurors to their homes for the Memorial Day holiday weekend, therefore the deliberations will start on Tuesday, May 31, starting at 9:15 ET. There isn’t a specific date for when the verdict will be handed out, but due to the sheer volume of testimony presented over the past few weeks, we might need to wait a bit.

For more than one month, Depp as well as Heardhave been arguing in court, and now we could be getting close to reaching a decision. Since April 11, we’ve seen a public display of the dirty laundry they have been putting out however, now the clock is ticking and they’ll need to be hopeful they can convince the jury that they have a valid argument.

The latest date for the end of the trial was set for May 27, however, on May 26, both sides had a rest day in their arguments. It’s not the end of the proceedings as jurors will need to decide whether Heard was defaming Depp within the Washington Post article.

Depp has filed a lawsuit against Heard to recover $50 million and claims she slammed her when she said she was the victim of domestic violence. Heard has countersued her for $100 million and argued that Depp has tarnished her in a way by accusing her of lying. Both parties have finished their statements.

What’s happened in this week’s trial?

The lawyers for Johnny Depp have attempted to deny Amber Heard’s claims of abuse in the defamation trial, which began on Tuesday. by presenting a knife she had given as a present for Johnny Depp “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor and notes she left to him.

As the trial began on Tuesday, lawyer Camille Vasquez asked jurors to scrutinize the knife Heard purchased in exchange for Depp back in 2012. Heard was a witness who claimed that Depp had already been violent towards her at that at the time.

“This is the knife you gave to the man who would get drunk and violent toward you?” the lawyer inquired. “This is the knife I gave him as a present, yes,” she stated, noting she was not sure that he would be able to stab her with the knife.

Depp has admitted that he has never struck Heard and has claimed She was the one who abused him during their romance. He claimed that she hit him with a bottle of vodka in the early part of 2015, and cut off the tip of his middle finger on the right.

Heard that she didn’t cause the injury on her finger and that she struck him in defense of either her or her sibling.
