Spit this solution out and repeat this two times a day.

  • Cold Compress

A cold compress has been used for centuries for the treatment of swelling and pain. It helps in reducing pain. No matter where you are, you can easily use this home remedy to deal with a tooth abscess. Take a dry towel and place some ice cubes. Now, hold this cold compress against your skin. There is no limit to repeating the cold compress as it leaves no side effects. So, you can use it for 5 minutes intervals.

  • Oregano essential oil 

Oregano is available in a drugstore, or you can find it in a health food store. Studies say that it contains beneficial properties, including antibacterial and antioxidants. Such properties help in reducing the swelling and pain of an abscessed tooth. You need a carrier oil to make it a dilute solution. 

Direct use of this oil can be irritating, so always use it as a dilute solution. Take only a few drops of oregano essential oil to one ounce of carrier oil and make a mixture. Use a cotton ball and soak it. Apply this mixture to the affected area to relieve the discomfort.

  • Saltwater 

It is an old home remedy for toothache and gum swelling. Additionally, it is an affordable way for temporary pain relief. Make a solution of warm water with salt. Mix half a teaspoon of normal table salt with a half cup of warm water. Swish it around inside your mouth for two minutes and spit the water out afterward. It will promote wound healing and give healthy gums.

  • Oil Pulling 

For oral hygiene, oil pulling is an effective way to deal with mouth ailments. Studies say that it helps in treating bad breath and removes toxins and gums. Raw coconut oil and olive oil are known to be good oils for the oil pulling process. 

Dentists suggest doing oil pulling in the morning when you are on an empty stomach. All you need is one tablespoon of your chosen oil and swish the oil around through your teeth for up to twenty minutes. Make sure that you do not swallow the oil and do not spit it in the sink. Take a bag and spit the oil out of your mouth. 

Coconut oil and olive oil contain beneficial properties that help in treating oral hygiene.
